A bit of who I am

Hey All, I’m LaToya ( LT)

A lot of people know me as the one who gets it poppin’ happy, vibrant, and full of contagious energy. I’m the one who can get the room moving, with my big energy, and pull people in through love & dance.

One of the stories people still bring up is the Tootsie Roll story. I went to Chicago with my granny when i was 9 years young for a family reunion. There were little dance moments everywhere competitions, music, joy in the air. I learned the Tootsie Roll at a real street block party, and when I came back home I couldn’t wait to share it. At recess, on the playground, I taught it step-by-step. To this day people still tell me, “I remember when you taught me the Tootsie Roll when we were kids.”

That’s always been me using movement to bring people together.

Even later, when I worked as a bottle girl in New York, movement was part of how I communicated. People didn’t come to the club just to sit they came to feel free, to dance, to be in it, and that same energy followed me into every space I’ve worked in.

When I worked in a medical dispensary, I’d do it with my patients too especially the ones who came in heavy. I’d invite something small: a shoulder pop, a gentle sway, a breath with a little movement. Sometimes they’d roll their eyes,  but most of the time they’d leave with a smile and a little more light in their body.

“I am never the same, but I am always myself.”
“I vibrate great energy into yours, making you never forget mine.”

The Truth That Deepened Everything

I’m a nine-year stage four colorectal cancer survivor, a Lynch syndrome carrier, and the heart behind H.Y.P.E.  Wellness LLC (Healing Your Parts Equally).

Cancer didn’t just change my body it changed my relationship to my body. I learned to live with an ostomy that has been reversed, a hereditary cancer gene, and a body that sometimes still fells foreign. Through grief, anger, acceptance, and continuous healing, I didn’t just “bounce back.” I became more honest, more present, and more committed to what real support actually looks like.

That’s when movement became more than something I love it became something I offer.

What I Hold Space For

H.Y.P.E. is for people navigating invisible illness, chronic stress, grief, trauma or just feeling disconnected from themselves. It’s for the folks who want support but feel nervous to show up  because they’ve been judged, minimized, or made to feel like they’re “too much,” or not enough.

My goal is simple: to create the most accessible, real, honest, secure, nonjudgment space I can so you can practice giving that same softness to yourself.

Because if we’re being real… most of us judge ourselves harder than anybody else ever could.

My Training + My Heart

I’ve recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Mental Health), and that means a lot to me. I’m someone who once struggled with reading, writing, and comprehension… and now I’m out here reading full guided meditations, holding space, and connecting with people in deep, meaningful ways.

Not because I’m perfect, but because I kept going.
With patience. With love. With support. With growth.

Along the way, I’ve also committed to trainings that match the kind of healing I believe in accessible, culturally rooted, and real:

  • 200-Hour Global Majority Teacher Training (Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health): This certification deepened my practice and connected me with a community that shares my values and aspirations.

  • Afro Flow Yoga Training  Modules 1–4 still training (under the mentorship of Leslie): A path that weaves together dance, yoga, and cultural heritage in a powerful, embodied way.

  • Reiki Master Certification (Windsoul Wellness Center): Further guided by my grandmother the medicine sachem Ren Green and the traditions of the Massachusett Tribe at Ponkapoag, bringing ancestral wisdom into how I hold space.

  • Restorative Yoga + Yoga Nidra Certification (15 hours) Dragonfly (RY ~ YN): Expanding my ability to offer deep rest, nervous system support, and true restoration.

That’s what I bring into this work: presence, compassion, real tools, and real-life understanding.

This isn’t about getting it right. It’s about feeling safe enough to try.

 My Beliefs

  • I believe in love

  • I believe in peace

  • I believe in birthright breath and movement

  • I believe in self-observation without judgment.

  • I believe dance and movement bring us joy, release, and connection.

  • I believe in accessibility everyone

  • I believe in the power of community and solidarity. Together, we find courage to be vulnerable, to be seen, and to heal. Healing begins when we release comparison and embrace compassion.

  • I believe in the wisdom of the chakras harmonizing, activating, and scanning the energy centers to bring balance and awareness.

  • I believe sound and energy can shift us through crystal bowls, vibration, and intentional practices that open us to deeper rest and release.

  • I believe healing is not linear. We are never broken we are always becoming
